Accessibility

This is a small site for a one-maker shop. Here is what has been checked, what has not, and how to tell us when something is in your way.

What was measured

Contrast. Every piece of text was measured against the background actually rendered behind it — in the browser, in each state, including while a control is held down — rather than estimated from the stylesheet. The lowest result anywhere on the site is 6.22:1, against the 4.5:1 that WCAG AA asks for body text.

Keyboard. Every link, button and field can be reached and operated with the keyboard alone, in the order they appear. The focus outline sits on the whole control rather than on a few words inside it, and a “skip to content” link comes first so the navigation can be jumped.

Motion. If your system asks for reduced motion, the movement is dropped. Nothing is lost by it: the controls still change appearance to say what they are doing, so the feedback survives without the travel.

Form errors. Problems are announced in text next to the field, tied to it programmatically, never signalled by colour alone.

What has not been tested

No screen reader has been run against this site. The markup was built for one — real labels, real headings, described images — but built-for is not the same as tested-with, and saying otherwise would be a claim we have not earned.

There has been no formal WCAG audit, and no testing with voice control or a switch device. The site is dark-only on purpose; there is no light theme yet.

Photographs of finished work carry written descriptions. Where a piece has no description confirmed by the maker, the piece is not shown at all rather than shown without one.

If something is in your way

Email ironroots@toolwright.dev and say what happened and what you were using. It goes to a person, not a queue. If the form itself is the barrier, say so — a project described in a plain email is just as welcome as one submitted here, and it will reach the same reader.
