Iron Roots Custom is a one-maker shop in Roanoke, Virginia. This page says what the form on this site collects, where it goes, and who reads it. No lawyer wrote it; it describes what the software actually does.
What the form asks for
Two things are required: a description of what you’d like made, and one way to reach you — an email address or a phone number, whichever you prefer. You are never asked for both.
Everything else is optional and exists so we can answer you properly rather than with a round of questions: rough dimensions, a material or finish you have in mind, whether it needs installing, roughly where it’s going, and your timing. “Not sure” is a real answer to all of them.
You can attach up to 10 photos or PDFs — sketches, a reference picture, a photo of the space. Large photos are shrunk in your browser before they are sent, so what leaves your device is smaller than what came off your phone.
Where it goes
Your written answers go into a database used only for Iron Roots inquiries. Files you attach go into a private folder on Google Drive that Kyle Knight maintains as the studio behind this site. Neither is public, and neither is shared with any other client’s records.
Two people see it. Kyle reads every inquiry first and answers the ordinary questions. Christopher — the maker — sees it when the job needs his judgement, which is most of the interesting ones. Nobody else is given access.
What this site does not do
There is no analytics, no tracking pixel, no advertising network and no cookie banner. The only cookie this site sets is the sign-in cookie, and only if you sign in to see your projects. It loads no third-party scripts and does not know you were here unless you send a project. Nothing you submit is sold, rented, or used to build a profile.
The form does carry one hidden check that only automated submitters trip. It looks at nothing about you.
Your project page and signing in
When you send a project, it gets its own page: what you sent, where it stands, notes from Christopher and photos from the shop. You reach it through the private link we email you, or by signing in with the same email address. Signing in means we email you a one-time link; there is no password, and no account to set up. The sign-in records your email address and when you used it, nothing else.
Anyone you forward the private link to can see that one project. If a finished piece goes into the portfolio, it goes without your name, and only with photos Christopher took.
How long it is kept
Inquiries are kept while they are live work, and afterwards as the record of a job — a shop needs to know what it built and for whom. A fixed deletion schedule has not been set yet, and rather than invent a number here, we’ll say plainly: ask and we will delete it.
Having it removed
Email ironroots@toolwright.dev and ask for your inquiry to be deleted, or ask what we hold. You do not have to give a reason. Files attached to it are deleted with it.
